APRIL 2008 NEWSLETTER
LET US TAKE CARE OF YOU
We have tweaked our website to make it obvious that we are all about customer care. Our new motto is "Let us take care of you". We know our guests come here to destress and our goal is to do whatever it takes to provide a memorable restorative mini vacation. You tell us what you need and we'll do our best, which is usually quite good. We even have a new package. It's a three day relaxation vacation designed for care givers and those of you who just can't avoid those 60-70 hour work weeks. We will even let you hide out anonymously.
NEW AT THE INN
We recently finished repainting the outside of the inn. It is now sparkling white once again. We also refinished the floor in the parlor. The color was unusual but we think we found a good match. We also revamped the gift shop. I got carried away with toys for pets and children as well as interesting linens.
There is also a new video on the site. It is all about the wonders of Mendocino County. I think when you see it you will be inspired once again to come visit.
PERSONAL NEWS
We were recently blessed with a visit from our children, their partners and our grandchild. They flew from Portland on the new Horizon flight into Santa Rosa and loved the convenience and the extra time it gave them. While here our daughter Maya got engaged to her boyfriend Jeremy. There must be something in the air or water here which brings out the romantic impulses. They will get married in July.
Grandchild Elliot is running around and is getting into everything, in a cute way of course. He is now 13 months.
Our new puppy, Cooper, is a hoot. Our other dog, Corky, finally accepted the interloper and they are happily running around in circles chasing each other, that is when Cooker is not chewing up everything in sight.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH
Artichoke Dip
Everyone loves our hot artichoke dip. It's really one of the easiest appetizers to whip up.
1 cup coarsely chopped artichoke hearts. If you use the kind which is packed in oil be sure to drain well.
3/4 cup mayo
1 cup Parmesan cheese - grated
1 4-oz can of diced mild green chilies
Bread crumbs - optional
Mix the first 4 ingredients together and place in a one cup volume sized au gratin dish. This recipe should make two dishes. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top. I think the bread crumbs cause the dip to brown and look more attractive. Bake @ 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until brown on top. Serve hot. Susan loves to place it on a tray surrounded by crackers or bread rounds. Please do not reheat. There are rarely any leftovers anyway.
