We are grateful to attract such a high caliber and diverse group of guests, many of whom have become friends. We are blessed to be in a drop dead gorgeous village with residents who are virtually all multi-talented and accomplished. And we appreciate our family and friends, who have been amazingly supportive all year and in past years. Stay any two nights - including weekends - between Dec. 1st and 20th in a standard room (Forest or Magnolia ONLY) for only $219 including taxes or in a suite (Meadow View, Big River or Ocean Deck ONLY) for just $349 including taxes.

And the pet fee for the first pet will be waived.

2008 UPCOMING EVENTS

2008 is just around the corner and although it's hard to think beyond the holidays right now, there are many good reasons to plan ahead. Here are just a few for this winter and early spring. More information about them all can be found online at www.GoMendo.com.

January 25th - Feast at the famous Cioppino Dinner in a tent in Noyo Harbor. $25 per person January 26th - Crabcake Cookoff. This is a people's choice wine and crab competition, and is always a sell out. $55 per person.
February 8-9 - Alsace Varietals Festival. Seminars, Dinners and Tastings. Winery events. All events will be at the Mendocino County fairgrounds in Boonville. Detailed information at www.avwines.com.
March 1-2 - Mendocino Whale Festival. Tastings of Mendocino wines, inn tours, Plein-Air Showcase and of course whale watching expeditions.

THE PERSONAL STUFF -

We just received a wonderful write up in Times of the Islands which speaks very glowingly about the Whitegate Inn and Mendocino. It is a syndicated piece with a circulation of 150,000. They particularly raved about our breakfast and ambience.

Mendocino County and Abigails got a great write up in the December 2007 issue of Fido Friendly magazine. They have kind words to say about our pet-empathetic innkeeper, Gretchen, and of course our miracle dog Corky.

Finally, I had to share this incredible picture of my extraordinary wife Susan, the firefighter. As I write this she is off saving a life or two. I've been enlisted as a helpful spouse, which basically means they call on me to sell hot dogs and "assist" when needed. To take great liberties with my analogy, now I know to a very small degree how Bill Clinton feels. But let's make this newsletter politically neutral.
